My trip between Argentina and Chile at the end of 2024

My itinerary in Argentina Starting in Buenos Aires, passing through Argentine Patagonia, the glaciers of Los Glaciares National Park, an excursion to Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, the Iguazu Falls, then northwest Argentina with its multicolored mountains.

The multitude of landscapes, the magnificent panoramas, the vibrant cities and the highlights of this trip made me return to France with 850 photos!

Those memories that we never want to forget

There are those moments when you think to yourself: I want this to stay with me forever!

For example:

• The moment you arrive at the glacier for a trek on the legendary Perito Moreno and the crunch of your steps in the ice brings tears to your eyes.
• Two days spent far from civilization in an estancia surrounded by Gauchos and landscapes at the ends of the earth!
• The road to Purmamarca, in the Andes Mountains region, with its seven-coloured mountains, and that silence, sometimes almost unreal.
• Or the intensity of the cultural discovery of a authentic milonga in Buenos Aires.

Why make a travel photo album?

Keeping photos on a smartphone is great, but we generally don't get much use out of them because there are too many and they're not sorted.

To fully enjoy them, the best thing to do is to sort through them and select only the most beautiful, the most memorable and those that move you to keep them in a travel photo album.

Here's a method for selecting the photos that truly deserve a place in a travel photo album (which I used for my Argentina-Chile photo book):

1. Choose the photos that tell a story

Choose images that evoke a significant moment. This could be the laughter of a travel companion, a particular light, or a contrast of colors. Your album should be an album of emotions, not just landscapes.

For example, for my trip to Argentina:

• a first view of the Perito Moreno glacier,
• a windswept path in Patagonia,
• a colorful alley in La Boca
• a glance exchanged during an encounter.

If, when you see the photo, you see the whole scene again… it deserves to be preserved.

Aim for a selection of around 50 to 80 photos for a month-long trip. This will force you to keep only the essentials, making the album more enjoyable to browse.

2. Sort, organize, and personalize

1. Next, organize your selected photos by stage of the trip. Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Chile, Northwest…
2. Add short captions : a date, an anecdote, a feeling.
3. Add a few themed pages : “highlights”, “encounters”, “sunsets”.

Creating an album is not just about assembling photos: it's about reliving your trip, page after page.

3. Vary the types of photos

For a harmonious result, consider alternating:

• wide landscapes on some pages
• double-page spreads for panoramas,
• Mosaics for small moments, details (a hand on a mate tea, a rock texture…),
• portraits,
• street scenes or scenes of local life.

This mix gives your album rhythm.

Turning a trip into a photo album of memories

Ultimately, a trip isn't just about the kilometers traveled or the places visited. It's the emotions, the encounters, the fleeting sensations that remain etched in your memory.
