Finally, for the lucky ones who will enjoy visiting Toulouse in 3 days, here are the possible programs for the DAY 3.
In fact, I will offer you half-day or full-day programs to do or combine as you wish.
Visit Toulouse along the water
To spend a day in the countryside, in the shade of bicentennial plane trees, you can walk, cycle or take a barge to enjoy the Garonne, the Canal de Brienne or the Canal du Midi.
-
- To walk along the canal, you will have to go to the center of Toulouse for a departure from the Allées de Brienne.
-
- To make a bike trip, the departure is from the Saint-Sauveur port in Toulouse and the arrival is at Port-Lauragais, in Avignonet-Lauragais. Distance: around 50 Km.
-
- For a barge trip on the Garonne and the Brienne Canal, you have to go to the Quai de la Daurade, to the port of St Sauveur or to the Port of the mouth depending on the season ... https://www.bateaux-toulousains.com/fr/2-croisieres-promenades/4-garonne-et-canal/17-ville-rose-ete
- And finally, for a barge trip on the Canal du Midi, it is in Villefranche de Lauragais, 30 minutes from Toulouse, that you will embark for a full day trip with lunch on board. During this barge cruise you will discover a canal whose heritage is still preserved, rich in its many works of art: XNUMXth century locks, navigation aqueducts, supply channels ...http://www.lescroisieresendouce.com/plan-d’acces-15.htm
- And if you wish, you can also walk along the Canal du Midi by bike !
Visit Toulouse - The City of Space
For those who dream of taking a walk on the Moon, getting on board “as in real life” on the Mir station, touching the Ariane 5 rocket… in short for all those who have their heads in the stars… The Cité de l'espace awaits you in Toulouse!
I did it in an afternoon and it was perfect for me who am not a scientist… Space science enthusiasts can spend the day there!
What takes the most time are the 3D films which have a real success, especially in the gigantic IMAX cinema. I therefore advise you to go there directly to organize the sessions as a priority.
Visit Toulouse - Aeroscopia Museum
Aeronautics is a must in Toulouse! Indeed, Toulouse rhymes with Airbus and has been for decades.
On 15 m000 entirely dedicated to aviation, you will discover Toulouse's rich aeronautical heritage: its past, the present but also the future of the aeronautical industry.
From Toulouse go to the Cité de Carcassonne
Want to visit the Cité de Carcassonne, one of the most beautiful medieval cities in the world, listed as a Historic Monument and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site?
It is quite possible to do so from Toulouse which is only an hour's drive from Carcassonne!
Indeed, in the center of Toulouse, you can take a bus that will take you to discover the City of Carcassonne, the Comtal castle and the Saint Nazaire basilica.
Please note: These excursions are only offered on Fridays in summer and on Sundays in spring and fall.
And why not schedule a small circuit around Carcassonne ?
From Toulouse go to Albi et Cordes
Here is an outing that I highly recommend from Toulouse : the day trip to Albi whose Cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and to Cordes which is a charming little medieval village.
Every Thursday and Saturday in summer, you can go by bus from the center of Toulouse to visit Albi and its Sainte Cécile cathedral, the Toulouse Lautrec museum and the pretty village of Cordes sur Ciel. Learn more
To make these last outings, the bus will take you Place d'Arménie at 23 allée Jean-Jaurès in Toulouse. That's why I'm going to recommend that you book a nearby hotel to save you time and simplify the organization of your day!
Otherwise, you can cook up a little weekend around Toulouse on the Bastides du Tarn road.
