What to do around the Tatacoa Desert ? How to visit the Tatacoa Desert ? Here is how I organized my tour of the Red Desert and the Gray Desert.
What to do around the Tatacoa desert?
Finding a restaurant open at 14 p.m. is not easy. But our stomachs were starving, we persevered and found a very simple and friendly little establishment. Our meal (rice soup + pork accompanied by rice and red beans) will cost us only 7 COP (000 Euros)!
Villavieja Tower
Tour is a very big word to describe the little walk we took in the streets of this small village. Here, people are very modest and live in small accommodation without any comfort. The walk is done without any malicious glance, without any insecurity and with exchanges of smiles that fill us with joy.
How to visit the Tatacoa desert?
Visit the Tatacoa desert on foot
You will have to leave very very early and prepare yourself to walk for several long hours under a blazing sun ... The 1st desert (the red one) is located a little less than 8 km away and the gray desert which is much larger is well situated. further away…
Visit the Tatacoa desert by bike
You can rent a bike for 5 COP per hour but you won't get advice and guidance from someone who knows well ...
Visit the Tatacoa Desert by TUC TUC
This is the solution we have chosen. We will book it in the village square for the next morning. We negotiated a half day for 100 COP (around 000 Euros). It is a bit expensive but less tiring and we will thus benefit from a guided tour and explanations from a specialist in the two deserts.
