You are on vacation in the South of France or preparing a long weekend on the French Riviera and you want discover the most beautiful beaches in Hyères, Giens and Porquerolles, so here is my 3-day sightseeing tour with the route map.

To save time on transport, I made this circuit in the form of road trip by changing accommodation every night. However, the tourist stages of my itinerary can also be visited by the day for those who prefer to stay in Hyères and flutter all around ...
here is my 3-day road trip around Hyères which gives pride of place to Porquerolles beaches and Giens peninsula but who does not forget a few Sightseeing in Hyères.
Maybe my tour could give you some ideas ...
Visit Hyères and its islands in 3 days
Hyères with its hinterland and its Golden Islands with paradisiacal beaches would have enough to occupy a tourist for much more than 2 or 3 days! In fact, it is impossible to make a real tourist circuit that allows you to visit in just 3 days the historical, cultural and natural sites all around Hyères.
But we are not going to lie to each other, when we choose to spend 2 or 3 days in Hyères, it is above all to enjoy its beaches and swimming in the crystalline waters of the Porquerolles beaches and Giens peninsula. This is why the circuit that I present to you below is essentially focused on the discovery of landscapes and natural sites. Tampis for forts, churches, museums ...
Visit Hyères and its islands - The unmissable
So, to define an itinerary that combines tourist stops and seaside pleasures, I selected the sites which (according to my tastes and desires) are unmissable places around Hyères :
- Provencal market in Hyères
- The old town of Hyères
- La Londe-les-Maures
- Coastal path
- Pellegrin Beach
- The Giens peninsula
- Salt Road
- Almanare beach
- Madrague Beach
- Darboussières Beach
- Porquerolles
- Silver beach
- Notre Dame Beach
Then, I organized them to develop an optimized 3-day tour in order to waste as little time as possible in the journeys.

Hyères beaches - Porquerolles beaches - Giens beaches - Program
My program for these 3 days around Hyères les Palmiers breaks down as follows:
- Day 1 morning : Hyères (market + visit to the historic center)
- Day 1 afternoon : La Londes-les-Maures to hike the coastal path.
- Day 2 : Discovery of the Giens peninsula by the salt road and lazing around on the beaches of Almanare and Madrague
- Day 3 : Discovery of Porquerolles with relaxation on Argent beach and Notre Dame beach.
1 Provencal market, medieval village, wild beauty of the coast ... This is my program for DAY 1
Visit Hyères and its surroundings
Hyères is an old medieval city which is classified as a city of art and history.
To visit Hyères, you can walk through the narrow streets of the old town, passing through Porte Massillon and the Tour des Templiers to reach the collegiate church.
If you consult blogs or tourist guides, you have to go to the famous Villa Nouailles.
Provencal market in Hyères
Personally, I preferred (rather than visiting this curious modern architecture), to go to Hyères market. It is a real pleasure to smell the smells of olives, fruits, cheeses and taste the typical regional products of Provence. If that tempts you, know that every Saturday morning, is held on Avenue Gambetta, the Great market of the golden islands which is the largest market in Hyères.
La Londe-les-Maures
After the market, you can take the road to La Londe-les-Maures, 10 kilometers from Hyères. The landscape draws vineyards framed by the Massif des Maures on one side and old salt flats on the other.

Argentière Beach
Argentière beach is part of the Municipality of La Londe-les-Maures. You can park there easily as there is ample free parking.
Argentière Beach - Restaurant
If you are looking for a good restaurant with a beautiful view and feet in the water, I recommend you Hemingway. It is about ten minutes walk from the beach parking lot.
Argentière beach - Coastal path
After lunch, I advise you to take one of the most beautiful hikes in the area: the Coastal Path.

It is an easy hike to do about 2h30 without swimming time. It runs along the coast starting from Argentière beach to Brégançon beach, also called Cabasson beach.
From the beach, head east along the sea. The path marked in yellow guides you through wild places, creeks, vineyards and of course magnificent beaches. You will go through the Pellegrin beach.
Pellegrin Beach
One of the most beautiful, they say! And it is true that this beach is magnificent with its wild side, its clear sand, its turquoise waters and its pine trees very appreciated for the shade… It is located about 15 minutes walk from the Argentière beach.

Hyères beaches
To choose my first accommodation in Hyères, I first had to find out where the most beautiful beaches are in Hyères (excluding the Giens and Porquerolles peninsulas) in order to be able to take advantage of it by staying next door ...
I had read everywhere that the Almanarre beach is one of the most beautiful in Hyères. And it's true that this beach is a real treat!
About 4 km long, it is located along the salt road south of Hyères following the old salt marshes where you can see flamingos and other sea birds. At the end of this long beach, we arrive on the Giens peninsula.

Which hotel in Hyères?
Here is an eco-responsible hotel very well located on Almanarre beach and with good value for money: Hotel Almanarre Plage.
Its location is perfect facing the beach and quiet away from the crowds of tourists that can be found in other places in Hyères. The breakfasts are hearty and delicious (local and homemade products).
2 Salt flats, ponds, fishing villages, beautiful coasts… This is my program for DAY 2
Today my tour continues on the Giens peninsula. This little piece of land and sand is a real corner of paradise linked to Hyères by two long strips of fine sand.
Giens is therefore accessible by car or bus (line 67) from Place du Maréchal Joffre in Hyères.
Salt road between Hyères and Giens
To reach Giens from Hyères, the ideal is to take the salt road, which goes through Almanarre (where I had chosen my 1st hotel). So we walk along the Ponds and Saltworks of Pesquiers.
Saltworks of Pesquiers
These Saltworks of Pesquiers constitute a coastal wetland which forms a mosaic of bodies of water with exceptional biodiversity. The natural landscapes are sublime.
Giens village
1st stage of the day: a short tour in the village of Giens which has kept all its authenticity and its colorful and typical side of the villages of Provence.

Giens beaches
To fully discover the magnificent coastline of the Giens Peninsula, the best option is to take a short hike along the Coastal Path.
The path starts from the port of La Madrague and arrives at the Darboussières Beach.
Just follow the signs for Darboussières beach. This is a very easy 6 kilometer loop hike that is just beautiful! It reveals sublime landscapes that scroll all along the coast, a major part of which is still wild.
Madrague beach in Giens
La Madrague beach is one of the most beautiful small cove beaches on the Giens peninsula.
On the other hand, it is not that easy to find and not very accessible either.
In fact, when you are on the road towards La Madrague (fishing port), you have to go all the way. There is no parking lot so you have to park near the Four à Chaux bus stop before Camping d'Olbia.
Then, you have to take the small path on foot which is located at the bus stop. About 200 meters further, you arrive at the Calanque du Four à Chaux. There, you have to cross the small beach and climb the few steps to access just behind Madrague beach.
You will see it is a small heavenly cove!
Where to stay on the Giens peninsula?
The hotel offer is not very wide in Giens and rather expensive ... But sometimes, you have to know how to have fun!
For that night, I chose the Hotel Provençal for its breathtaking panoramic view of the Hyères islands. Despite the price a bit high, it was its pool nestled in the rocks that finally convinced me to book.

3 Postcard beaches, dream landscapes, crystal clear waters… This is the program of the DAY 3
Among the 3 Golden Islands, it is Porquerolles opposite the Giens peninsula that I chose for my last day in Hyères.
Porquerolles beaches
It is an island which offers splendid landscapes of vineyards, cliffs and especially beaches. They are so beautiful that they have nothing to envy to those of Polynesia, Maldives or Martinique !
You will discover below what in my opinion are the 2 most beautiful beaches in Porquerolles that absolutely must not be missed.
How to go to the island of Porquerolles?
You have to go to the Fondue Tower to the south of the Giens peninsula to access the pier to the island of Porquerolles.
In high season, shuttles go back and forth every half hour for 19 Euros. A word of advice, get up early to take the 1st departure at 7:30 am. Thus, you will avoid the crowds and discover the sites a little before everyone else. For more information : https://www.hyeres-tourisme.com/les-iles-dor/porquerolles/traversees-maritimes-bateau/
Be careful because cars are prohibited in Porquerolles. You will therefore need to rent a bike on site when you arrive.
The most beautiful beaches of Porquerolles
The beaches of Porquerolles have been classified among the most beautiful beaches in Europe for their beauty and preservation.
When you only have 1 day to enjoy it, I advise you to take the bike and travel the north of the island along the coast. The most beautiful beaches in Porquerolles lie there and stretch along a magnificent shore with turquoise waters.

Porquerolles beaches - Route map
Here is the map of my 7 kilometer cycle route along the Porquerolles beaches via Langoustiers path :
Argent Beach Porquerolles
From the landing stage, you will be in a few minutes on one of the most beautiful beaches in Porquerolles: the Argent beach.
Notre Dame Porquerolles Beach
Voted the most beautiful beach in Europe, Notre Dame beach is the most beautiful of all the beaches on the island. Hidden behind a wood, sheltered from the wind, this white sand beach is 25 minutes by bike but it is definitely worth the detour.

Where to stay in Porquerolles?
Want to sleep on the waves in a dream setting and at the start of the trails to the most beautiful beaches of Porquerolles? So, here is an unusual accommodation that will meet your expectations: A boat cabin !
Located 450 meters from the Courtade beach (on my itinerary), the “Quay boat accommodation” establishment offers accommodation in a cabin with a seating and dining area.
The boats are less than 1 km from the silver beach and a 20-minute walk from the Lequin cove.

Thanks very much
