My selection of cheap hotels for this tour

CHEAP PANAMA CITY HOTEL

To put it simply, I booked the same cheap hotel in Panama City for days 1-8-9-10:

My selection criteria were as follows:

  • Good location,
  • Air conditioning,
  • WIFI and Low price !

I finally chose the one with the best value for money. It will ultimately be the Clarion Victoria Hotel . Indeed, it's a centrally located hotel with bars and restaurants just a two-minute walk away, and it meets all my criteria for a very attractive price: €65 per night.

This is a great hotel deal in Panama City because it is super well located right in the center and is 8 minutes from the Iglesia del Carmen metro station, in a very safe and rather chic area.

The buffet breakfasts were very good and offered everything: salty, sweet, cereals, fresh fruit, fresh fruit juices ...

Furthermore, although I had booked a basic room (the cheapest option), we were upgraded at no extra cost. We were able to enjoy suite number 704! It included an entrance with a kitchenette (coffee maker and refrigerator), a living room (armchair and large-screen TV), a bedroom with a TV, a safe, and a lovely shower room. We had a magnificent view of Panama City (see below). And the best part: a rooftop pool!

CHEAP HOTEL IN SAN BLAS

The unpleasant surprise is that it's difficult to find affordable accommodation in the San Blas Islands through Booking.com . First, you have to choose which small island you want to stay on. Then, you discover that the options are very limited, consisting mainly of basic cabins with no amenities, catamarans renting out rooms at exorbitant prices, or a campsite on Cartí Satubgua Island.

After a lot of hesitation, I decided to book a simple private Demar Achudup cabin where we slept for 3 nights:

The strong point of these accommodations is their location. Indeed, the cabins are placed directly on the beach, under the coconut trees, facing a superb lagoon, with a hammock waiting for you for long naps in the sun ...

This a real cabin by the beach without any comfort but in such a heavenly place, we quickly forget modern life and we like to live like Robinson Crusoe!

Price 125 Euros full board.

CHEAP HOTEL IN BOCA DEL TOROS

Choosing a budget hotel in Boca de Toros isn't easy either. This archipelago comprises numerous islands, most with a wide range of accommodation options, from rooms in private homes to luxury hotels…

I wanted to book a hotel located in the south of the island of Boca del Toros. It was more convenient because very close to the airport and the pier for the other islands. But no establishment really suited me (price, view, tranquility…).

It was just a little further north on Colon Island that I found the rare gem: Jungle Paunch

These are small, private chalets located a 3-minute walk from the beach on the edge of the jungle (as the name suggests). Bluff Beach, famous for its turtles, is right next door. And a little further north, you can meet the indigenous Mimitimbi people.

The hotel is inexpensive (compared to other hotels), quiet and its location is perfect for enjoying nature, the beach, excursions to the other islands in short IDEAL!

The only slight drawback is the lack of air conditioning. However, it does have a fan and a lovely hammock on the terrace. And it's important to remember that this is a budget hotel in Bocas del Toro.

Super advantage of the chalet: it is equipped like a small apartment and therefore, we can prepare meals there.

Its price: €75 per night (for a fully equipped chalet, I thought that was very reasonable). See this hotel on Booking.
