BOGOTA AIRPORT
It is at 19:15 p.m. that we land at BOGOTA. Tired of the long hours on the plane, we can't wait to leave the airport to explore the streets of the capital. We wanted to quickly get a first impression of the atmosphere of this much-maligned city… Collection of suitcases, customs formalities, pipiroom… Colombia is waiting for us soon!
Phew! Pierre from the Colombia Infinita agency is there to welcome us. He will drive us to our hotel and I must admit it was very comfortable and reassuring.
He organized (and very well organized) in our circuit a few days of visits and transport especially on BOGOTA, MEDELLIN and the Coffee region. For the rest, we managed on our own like grown-ups!
In the car, Pierre informs us that it is 19 ° C and that it usually rains every day. BOGOTA. The FRIDGE: this is how Colombians rename the capital.
Travel time from the airport to our hotel in the quiet Chapinero area will be approximately 30 minutes. For information, the price of the taxi fare is around 4 Euros.
While driving, we try to perceive some details of the architecture, passers-by, shops… but it is already dark and we will have to wait until the next day to satisfy our curiosity.
CHEAP HOTEL IN BOGOTA
We finally arrive at our hotel that I had booked through Booking especially for its location in the residential, chic and secure area: the Chapinero.
What I liked about the Saint Simon hotel
- I particularly appreciated the welcome and the kindness of the staff.
- The little extra is the full and varied breakfast (all-you-can-eat buffet).
What I didn't like about the Saint Simon hotel
- A dryer was missing in the bathroom.
- The TV on at breakfast.
Saint Simon Hotel Price
396 COP or 270 Euros for 114 nights: good value for money!
